Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Vues (“Vues,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the Vues website at vues.app, our applications, and related services (the “Service”). It applies to both Brands and Clippers. By using the Service you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account and identity information — when you sign in with Google or Discord, we receive your name, email address, profile image, and a provider account identifier.
- Social media information — your connected social handles, the links to posts you submit, and the public performance metrics (such as views, likes, and follower counts) associated with that content, which we obtain from the relevant social platforms.
- Payout and financial information — the payout method and details you provide (such as a cryptocurrency wallet address, PayPal, or Zelle information), your payout history, and tax information you supply to receive payments. Full payment-card or bank credentials are handled by our payment providers, not stored by us.
- Campaign and business information — for Brands, company details, billing information, and the campaigns you configure.
- Usage and device information — IP address, browser and device data, log data, and analytics events about how you interact with the Service.
- Communications — information you provide when you contact us for support.
2. How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from you, automatically through cookies and similar technologies as you use the Service, from the sign-in providers you use to log in (Google, Discord), from social platforms when we retrieve public metrics for your submissions, and from our payment providers.
3. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the marketplace and your account;
- Track views and engagement and calculate, verify, and process Payouts;
- Verify identity and detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, fake views, and other abuse;
- Process payments and meet tax and reporting obligations;
- Match Brands and Clippers and administer Campaigns;
- Communicate with you, including service and support messages;
- Improve and secure the Service; and
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms.
Where required by law (for example, in the EU/UK), we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Service, your consent (which you may withdraw), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only as described here:
- With Brands — when you participate in a Campaign as a Clipper, we share your relevant handles, submission links, and view and performance metrics with the Brand running that Campaign.
- With service providers — including our authentication and database host (Supabase), cloud hosting providers (such as AWS and Vercel), payment providers, analytics providers (PostHog), and the social platforms whose APIs supply view metrics. These providers process data on our behalf under contract.
- For legal and safety reasons — to comply with law, respond to legal process, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Vues, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
- Aggregated or de-identified data — which can no longer reasonably identify you.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third parties — including Google and Discord (sign in), the social platforms you connect, and our payment providers — each of which has its own privacy policy governing its handling of your data. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to run the Service (such as keeping you signed in) and to understand how the Service is used. We use PostHog for product analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and where required we will obtain your consent. Where applicable, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).
7. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We retain certain information for longer where required to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations (for example, payout and tax records are typically retained for several years). When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and database-level access rules. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights (EU/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at vlad@sludge.ai.
10. Your Privacy Rights (California and Other U.S. States)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request access to and deletion or correction of your personal information; to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share it as those terms are defined); to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. Residents of other U.S. states with privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Texas) have similar rights. To make a request, contact us at vlad@sludge.ai. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
11. International Data Transfers
We are based in, and process information in, the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Automated Decision-Making
We use automated systems to help verify views and detect fraudulent or inauthentic engagement, which can affect whether views are counted and Payouts are made. Where these processes significantly affect you, you may contact us to request human review or to contest a decision.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email and update the “Last updated” date above.
15. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Policy or your personal information, contact us at vlad@sludge.ai.
